The brand new Interactive Dry Programmes are now available to clients visiting the Marine Park in Malta. Enjoy a close encounter with the beatiful bottlenose dolphins, sea lions and parrots under the guidance of professional trainers at the Marina Park at Bahar ic-Caghaq in Malta.

Dolphin Interactive Programme
|
The Marine park currently have five adult Bottlenose Dolphins and three Calves, with the latter being born at the Park.They are also trained through the positive reinforcement technique which stimulates them both physically and mentally. These Bottlenose Dolphins are fed a mixture of capelin, sprat and herring.
Guests can enjoy a close encounter with these wonderful Dolphins during a 20 minute dry interactive programme and participants to this programme will be allowed to feed, touch and/or try the positive reinforcement technique at first hand. Participants for the Dolphin Interactive Programme must be over 6 years of age and may use their cameras. Guests who intend to book a Swim with Dolphins should NOT book a Dolphin Interacive Programme for the same person/s on the same day, this is mainly because both the Swim with Dolphins and Interactive Programmes are done at the same time, furthermore guests who have booked a Swim With Dolphins will also be interacting with the Dolphins. Note that the price of the Interactive Dolphin Programme also includes free entrance to the Park and the 3 daily shows/presentations.
Facts: Bottlenose dolphins, the genus Tursiops, are the most common and well-known members of the family Delphinidae, the family of oceanic dolphins.

Sea Lion Interactive Programme
|
The Marine Park have three Sea Lions, all with different personalities. The youngest Sea Lion "Junior" was born at the park and now weighs approximately 240kgs, whilst the other male is named "Joey" and the female named "Dana". All these three Sea Lions are trained by the Park's trainers using the positive reinforcement technique which allows the Sea Lions to perform in front of audiences without the need of any form of restraint. The Sea Lions at the Marine Park are fed a mixture of sprat, herring and capelin, just like the Dolphins.
Guests can enjoy a close encounter with these wonderful Sea Lions during a 20 minute dry interactive Sea Lion programme led by the experienced trainers of the Park and will have the possibility to feed, stroke and/or be kissed by one of the fabulous Sea Lions. Participants for the Sea Lions Interactive Programme must be over 6 years of age and may use their cameras. Note that the price of the Interactive Sea Lion Programme also includes free entrance to the Park and the 3 daily shows/presentations.
Facts: Sea lions are any of seven species in seven genera of modern pinnipeds including one extinct species (the Japanese sea lion). Sea lions are characterized by the presence of external ear pinnae (ear-flaps), long front flippers, the ability to walk on all four flippers on land.

Parrot Interactive Programme

Have you ever wondered why Parrots are so gifted ? This is your chance to learn more from the experienced trainers of the Park who will introduce you to the characteristics, habitat and food of Parrots as well as their protection due to hunting and deforestation.
Guests can enjoy a 15 minute interactive and eductaional programme and participants to this programme will surely enjoy the parrots revealing their colours and sounds besides having the opportunity to touch and feed these beautiful birds. Participants for the Parrot Interactive Programme must be over 6 years of age and may use their cameras. Note that the price of the Interactive Parrot Programme also includes free entrance to the Park and the 3 daily shows/presentations.
Facts: Parrots, also known as psittacines (pronounced /ˈsɪtəsaɪnz/), are birds of the roughly 372 species in 86 genera that make up the order Psittaciformes found in most warm and tropical regions. The order is subdivided in three families: the Psittacidae ('true' parrots), the Cacatuidae (cockatoos) and the Strigopidae (New Zealand parrots). The greatest diversity of parrots is found in South America and Australasia.
